You’ll also need to keep close watch on the radiation meter in the bottom left of the HUD. You should also be careful that the fog of war covers unexplored locations. When you move your cursor around the screen a small set of numbers will show you how much water it costs to make that move. You need to consider how much each move will cost you in terms of water consumption. ![]() You being with full canteens for all your team, but you must keep an eye on their water at all times. You’ll see your water indicator in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Firstly, water should always be a priority. Now you’ve got all the little bits of loot/gear, you’ll be heading out to the desert. There’s a mound of dirt here you can dig up using your shovel, then go back again to the Rangers, stopping to dig up yet another mound of dirt. She’s got quite a story to tell, and will ask if she can tag along with your group. Now go back past the Rangers sitting on the floor and along the path and you’ll come across Angela. When you see the NPC cleaning the walls of graffiti, use the shovel on the mound of dirt nearby for a handful of items and Scrap. Past the trader you’ll find three Rangers sitting around, but just pass them by as you go along the path north. This is the spot to come to when you need to buy armour and ammo for your weapons. There’s not much to buy at this point, but remember the trader’s location for the future. You’re not able to access the Citadel entrance just yet, so go over the wooden bridge north to meet the first trader. With the conversation complete head north, picking up the shovel on the way to the Ranger Cemetery. You’ll need to find the repeaters that Ace was carrying before he was killed. When he shows you the Party Map you’ll be given the location of your first mission. Once the first cutscene has played out, begin the conversation with General Vargas. We'll need to wait for radio distress calls to track these locations down.Grab your shovel and gear up before heading out into the desert.
